Participant-Directed Services (PDS) in California

Important note: PPL is not affiliated with housing programs such as Homekey+ or Proposition 1. We provide support related to California’s Self-Determination Program (SDP) for individuals receiving Regional Center services.

With PDS, a person with developmental disabilities can:

Choose who provides your support
Control other aspects of your care
Hire a friend, family member, or other person of your choosing
Become the employer of your worker

What is PDS? PDS stands for Participant Directed Services and it is a model of care that gives individuals more control over how their support services are delivered—letting them choose who provides the services, when, and how.
